Registration Information

To register to vote in Roane County you must be...

1. AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD
2. A U.S. CITIZEN
3. A RESIDENT OF ROANE COUNTY
4. YOU MAY NOT HAVE BEEN CONVICTED OF A FELONY
   (if you have been convicted of a felony and have had your rights restored according to law, you may register to vote)

If you will be 18 before the next election, you may register to vote prior to your birthday.

Voter registration applications are available at the following locations:

6. Register of Deeds office

Registration Deadlines

Registration closes 30 days prior to any election. Registration applications hand delivered or postmarked before that date will be processed by the Election Commission office.

Changes of Name or Address

If you are a registered voter in Roane County and have changed your name or address, you have until five days before an election to update your registration with the election office. Changes of address can NOT be handled over the phone. To change your name you are required to file a new registration form to update your signature.
